The Florida Highway Patrol shut down I-95 after a chemical truck accident on December 29, 2011, according to sources. The driver of the truck, 66-year-old Francis Trammell of Neptune Beach, died in the crash. The chemical truck that Trammell was driving ran into the back of a logging truck, according to Sgt. Kim Montes of the Florida Highway Patrol. The logging truck initially lost control on the highway and overturned, spilling logs onto the road. A car wrecked into the logs and then was rear-ended by a mail truck. The driver of the chemical truck died and four others suffered injuries. The trucks caught fire after the collision. January 11th, 2012Florida Highway Patrol is searching for the driver of a sports car that ran a red light, collided with another vehicle and fled the scene of the car accident, according to the Sun Sentinel. A passenger of the t-boned vehicle died, and three others were injured. Thomas James Smith, 28, died at Health Central hospitals from his injuries. Smith was riding in a Toyota Camry. The driver, Lakeisha Oglesby, 23, suffered injuries. Witnesses saw the Camaro run the red light, according to police reports. Both vehicles spun around in the intersection before striking a concrete wall. Two other passengers in the Camry, Patrick Chambers, 25, and Gabrielle Swann, 18, suffered minor injuries. Man Pinned Underneath Semi Truck in Orlando
January 9th, 2012Orange County firefighters rescued a man pinned under a tractor-trailer on December 30, according to sources. The truck accident occurred when the man ran his Kia into the back of the truck, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. The accident occurred at the intersection of Orange Blossom Train and Robinson Street in Zellwood. The victim was eventually pulled out of the car, but rescuers had trouble getting to him. They rushed him to Orlando Regional Medical Center. Officials shut down the highway for several hours. The victim’s condition is unknown.
